Dr. Wdowin grew up in the countryside of rural central New York where his family maintained an organic vegetable garden and his parents owned a health food store. He was introduced to alternative medicine at a very young age and his earliest medical memories are of his mother making comfrey poultices for the cuts and scrapes he and his brother would acquire while playing in the surrounding countryside. 

From an early age his parents also introduced him and his siblings to environmental issues and made them aware of our human impact on both our local and global communities.

During medical school Dr. Wdowin had a unique opportunity to work very closely with the Director of Environmental Medicine Center of Excellence, Dr. Walter Crinnion. Dr. Crinnion is a world renowned physician who specializes in environment medicine.

As a result of his upbringing, education, and medical experiences, environmental medicine has became Dr. Wdowin's passion. You will find a number of research articles that Dr. Wdowin has collected pertaining to environmental health on our research page.

Dr. Wdowin's true passion is environmental medicine, yet this is only one of the modalities in which he has been trained. Dr. Wdowin evaluates each patients individual case and then constructs a treatment protocol consisting of a number of different modalities best suited to the patient's individual needs. Dr. Garrett Wdowin is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and the American College of Alternative Medicine.
